In just 6 years, Red Media Studio has become Cebu’s top studio of success. With its timelessly high-quality portraits that last to provide a topnotch customer experience that their clients remember — the studio has truly been an impactful brand towards the clients that trust them and the industry it belongs to.
But the studio’s success didn’t just happen overnight — there lies a secret to the studio’s soaring success that resulted in a world-class feat one could only imagine.
Red Beginnings
The humble beginnings of the studio started when it was co-founded in 2017 by Robo and Caroline Formacion who were in the wedding photography industry for 7 years.
Through hands-on experience in the industry, the power couple knew the importance of simplicity and elegance through their industry experience.
Qualities they believed that graduation portraits must have, especially when it’s a portrait that’s only taken once after years of studying.
“When we think of graduation portraits, we think of an important framed picture that’s hung up on the wall. One that’s going to be there for years and seen by you daily. It’s an important picture.” Robo Formacion, the studio’s Chief Executive Officer, said.
“And because it’s important, it must be a portrait that you’re going to be proud of.” He added.
Seeing the need to produce graduation portraits with these qualities, one that the market did not currently provide, the couple saw an opportunity.
Guided by the principles of trust and integrity with skill and perseverance, the Formacion couple opened the doors of Red Media Studio first in Urgello before moving to Cogon Ramos, Cebu.
But just like how the studio’s graduates prevail, so did the studio.
Red Struggles
Through the years, the studio faced different challenges to overcome and struggles to conquer.
From having few clients in its early years to having nearly no clients upon the change of the curriculum, to being isolated when the pandemic struck and a major supertyphoon that damaged the studio consecutively, the studio stood at the end of the plank on whether or not it could still continue its operations.
“It was truly a test of faith and perseverance. We were unsure if we could still continue given all of those things happening one after the other,” Caroline Formacion, the studio’s Chief Operations Officer, recalled emotionally.
“At one point we weren’t sure if we could still give a paycheck to our staff. The studio’s future was very uncertain”
But just like how the studio’s graduates prevail, so did the studio.
When they say that conquering challenges and struggle have the ability to strengthen a brand — it also applies to the studio.
The studio’s owners and staff held on and continued despite it all and went to difficult lengths just so it could continue providing what their clients who trust them.
From breakdowns then came breakthroughs when opportunities and partnerships opened for the studio to achieve a milestone in reaching their vision of becoming Cebu’s top studio.
Red World-Class Future
When you’re already on top you have the option to stay comfortable and be content especially when you’re already recognized as a World Class Photo Studio.
As grateful as they are for this recognition, Robo and Caroline Formacion refuse to get complacent even when they’re at the top.
They believe that the commitment to be the best does not end when it is achieved.
“We’re very grateful for this award, honestly. We did not even expect we’d receive this award so early. It’s a major affirmation that we’re doing something right” Caroline Formacion says.
“At this point, we could say that we are only competing with ourselves and I think that’s a good thing.”
The power couple believes that this is the very secret for the studio’s success. In their quest to constantly improve with their hardwork and dedication is the reason why Red Media Studio has become Cebu’s best.
“There is no other secret to the studio’s success but hard work, perseverance, and additionally, to constantly challenge ourselves.”
